About EFPD

In 1952, Elbert Fire was established with 100% volunteers and equipment.  It was not until 1978 that Elbert Fire became an offical fire district and became Elbert Fire Protection District.  Elbert Fire Protection District proudly provides emergency services to 186 square miles, located in southwest Elbert County and northeast El Paso County.  Elbert Fire Protection District is a combination department consisting of career and volunteer members, with members who reside both in and out of the district.  Elbert Fire Protection District has three stations of operations within the district that provide emergency services, fire suppression and emergency medical service.
